you can reduce the quality of the preview display, the speed at which the preview refreshes, and you can even disable it entirely (or just minimize the audio analysis window, which serves the same function). The problem is I only have a g4 powerbook (specs below) although it’s within the system requirements the recommended one is basically a macbook pro at £1400, having just bought a Mac Pro desktop I cannot afford a new laptop also.
Vidvox software I've used on other people computers and especially the new version seems to be the best available, I’m sick of using glitchy lame programs like arkaos that never get updated.
